On Rotten Tomatoes, the film holds an approval rating of 92% based on 50 reviews, with a weighted average rating of 6.8/10. The site’s critical consensus reads, “I Am Not A Serial Killer honors the book it’s based on with a well-acted drama that leavens its gore and dark themes with wry humor.”
